The Artist Advocacy Foundation was established in 2007 as a 501c(3) corporation, and an educational foundation.
Our Mission, simply stated, is – inspiration,
To encourage it, acknowledge it, support it, spread it around, and champion on its behalf,
knowing - what a powerful motivating force it can be, both on a personal level for the individual, and also among groups of people, drawn together by common interests, aims, and sensibilities.
From a programming standpoint, our advocacy efforts began with singer-songwriters, storytellers, musical artists who are poets and philosophers,
people who, we felt, had something meaningful and worthwhile to say, and who could do so in a way that provoked a rich emotional experience for us as listeners and audience-members.
We soon branched out into other fields of artistic expression, to include painters, photographers, filmmakers, dancers, singers, writers and more.
We have endeavored to showcase the works of original artists, and to help nurture and educate audiences, so that the force of inspiration, and the power of community can thrive and be realized,
As an extension of our Mission to inspire, the gathering, building, and vitalizing of community is a central driving force of our work. It is the medium by which the inspiration circulates,
a forum for people to connect, and experience mutual appreciation.
We realize that inspiration is a subjective matter, and that different people are inspired by different things. We try not to apply limiting boundaries or constraints to the big audacious goal of inspiration, nor to confine ourselves to specific media, styles, genres, tastes or approaches. When a situation or an artist crosses our path or is brought to our attention, if it is consistent with our mission, and if we are able to help, we do.
